About Us

Founded in 1973 (as Hull & District Canoe Club), East Yorkshire Canoe Club is based in North Cave, East Yorkshire. We are a large and active club, affiliated with British Canoeing, with over 100 members of all ages and abilities with an approximate 50/50 female/male ratio.

The club caters for most paddling disciplines and offers full coaching through British Canoeing. A full calendar of events is available throughout the year providing activities for all levels of ability. As we have many family members we also have social events to cater for non-paddling members too.

We partake in most variations of white water, sheltered water, kayaking and canoeing, sea kayaking and paddle boarding. We are also looking to re-develop a Canoe polo team.

The club meets on Saturday mornings at it’s base in North Cave, we have access to a lake and own a large fleet of open canoes, kayaks and paddle boards in a variety of sizes that are all available for members use – so you can try before you buy.

The Club facilities include a changing room and a 'Eco Friendly' unisex toilet.

We are always on the lookout for new members and will offer a warm welcome.

All of our Officials and regular Coaches are DBS checked and have completed approved Safeguarding training.

Away Trips

As well as our pond sessions, we have a varied 'away' trip schedule, official club and independently organised paddles to suit all abilities.

Our Pond

This where where we are based, coach, practice and 'play', a former gravel pit, landscaped on completion of works, after many years appears a natural part of the landscape. Our use and maintenance is sympathetic to its abundant wildlife.
